The Texas Veteran Land Board (VLB) provides below market interest rate loans for land, home purchases and for home improvement projects. Any eligible veteran may use these loans. The Veteran Land Board is not associated with the federal VA; therefore, even if you have used your VA benefits, you may still be eligible for these state loan programs. There are discounts for veterans with disabilities. All Veteran Land Board loans are subject to credit approval. The VLB offers land loans, home loans and home improvement loans.   1. For purchase of one acre or more.
  2. Up to $80,000.00 for a 30-year fixed rate loan.
  3. Minimum 5% down payment required.
  4. Certified survey required.
  5. $325 appraisal & contract service.
